buyer on my buyers list 0:15'cause i got a strong buyers list in this area 0:21hey guys today it is systems Saturday, I will be your host 0:25along with my good friend and COO of my companies 0:28up mister boo mary, so guys on today's system 0:32Saturday session we are gonna talk a lot about hiring talent 0:35okay this is where a lot of people can go 0:39very very wrong and lose and even get out of 0:43the business, if you hire bad talent so 0:47one thing that I have, not always done good with is hiring talent 0:52anybody know that knows me for the first eight years that I was in business 0:56I did not make any money and the reason 0:59that I didn't make money was because I didn't surround myself with 1:03the people that I needed to surround myself with hiring bad talent and then 1:07in 1:07literally cost me six hundred thousand dollars in debt, okay 1:11what I ended up doing is a really changing 1:14up are hiring approach so that you can literally just get absolute studs 1:19working around you that are just 1:21complete based on the market their way smarter than what you're ever be 1:25and that's really the truth on how you can really expand and grow your business 1:30at a very very rapid pay so, what I did 1:33was I hired a marketing manager and that's what I kinda one of the roles of 1:38what Boo plays 1:39and all of companies that we have is he does a lot of hiring 1:43for us. so, boo why don't you talk about the way a traditional person 1:50will go out and look for talent and in kind in the way that we do it here at 1:54buyer's on fire or at home backers 1:56and how we find talent to know that we don't have to go through and look at 2:00a lot of these different 2:01resumes, we know for a fact that's 2:05you know you know to know for resume just out or good 2:08we just know really really quick we should even responded this person or send 2:12the resume straight to the trash 2:14we just know that right on point so Boo why don't you talk about the way most 2:18companies 2:19go and put an ad out there and how they 2:22kinda fail and how they have to waste a lot of time and how they always 2:27are going to attract 2:28you know those people that are just bad talent that are just 2:31out there just pushing resumes people why don't you talk about that first 2:34well, a problem that most companies have is whenever you put an ad on 2:38indeed on Craigslist when you put that ad out there 2:42when they send the resume and send their best representative you can hire a 2:45company 2:45to write a better resume for you you can hire your bro to write a better resume 2:49for you 2:50and even once that process is through and bring those people went up there with we 2:53thank or talented 2:55we turn around and they send their best representative 2:58into an interview for us that is causing a lot of time in honest they cost a lot 3:02of money we can't 3:04be reviewing 100 a resume up day after day bringing those people when taking an 3:08hour two hours interviewing every single person 3:11so what a normal company does is they say, send in your cover letter 3:14send a resume other three resume to see if you are qualified to see if your scores 3:19qualified 3:19see if what you've done a path is qualified see if you 3:23shake and fries in McDonald's relevant to what we're doing at the comp 3:27for the most part it is mostly not so what we've done at buyers of fire and 3:31home backers 3:31is taking that process and just reverse-engineered it. we took a scenario 3:36where 3:36you're at work and you have to deal with an issue whatever issue maybe 3:40for us you know your customer service aspect will take 3:43a disgruntled customer 3:44for instance we take that customer we put on scenario, just write on the 3:48application put a ride on the end 3:49and what have them respond to that as a condition of their employment 3:54if they don't respond to that then we do not assume for employment period 3:58what that does for us is it allows me to take a snapshot just a window into that 4:03person 4:04and see how they would act and a normal scenario now 4:07on one side that can be auto generated but for the most part 4:11we have found that it allows us to separate 4:15the haves and the have-nots so even if somebody's work is doesn't right 4:19relate directly to us what it does do is it gives us an opportunity to see how 4:23they may react and how they may fit or 4:25so basically in a nutshell, you know, we create a scenario 4:30you know we create a scenario and we make them perform 4:33right before, we don't even care about resumes 4:37I mean, yes we want to get them or whatnot we don't even really care 4:40about them because 4:42that's just you know bunch of crap anyways 4:45you know they're gonna put that there and excel at Excel, they excel at Word, they excel 4:49that they've got this great typing speed or what not once they get in the work, you're gonna 4:54find out that they are not that skilled in that stuff so 4:57we create a scenario for them 5:01and you know for example just like who was sayin if you're looking for somebody 5:04in customer service 5:06create a scenario of an angry customer that will call you after business hours 5:11and ask the person how would you respond to that 5:14you know would you respond to that and and call the CEO 5:17up on a cell phone at eight o'clock at night on a Sunday 5:22or how would you reply to that how would you 5:25take it into your hands and make that a good scenario and and what would you do 5:29with that, so 5:30you're kinda seen him perform, really before they even work for you so 5:36would do that into the real estate business as well right now currently we're 5:39looking for a 5:40a marketing person you know for the real state side of business where 5:44we're looking for 5:45absolute stud you know for social media 5:49for, to do all this, you know online marketing, off line marketing for us 5:53and to put together really a plan to make us the fastest growing in the entire 5:57country so 5:58instead of going out and you know instead boo place an ad out there 6:02you know submit your resume, you know 6:06tell us why you are for this job and blah blah boo will just like he said 6:11he will reverse engineer it 6:13and kinda talk about, you know for the marketing aspect of it 6:16you know kinda talk about how you I did that whole marketing 6:21ad out there for everybody to how we spun that one, to get that talent 6:26our marketing a specialist is an extremely extremely hard job to fill so 6:31what we did is we just opened what we want to know how do you want to know how 6:34they would market 6:35where would they market, what is their overall philosophy 6:39on creating a brand and asking those questions 6:42what we did is allowed us to see what skills they do have and what skills 6:45maybe they don't have 6:47for instance if somebody says they wanna go, you know, speak at a bunch of 6:50home owners meetings we know that that process is dead 6:54and way of creating a brand for company so we know even a cutback candidate 6:58it may be specifically, skilled 7:01in marketing he's not skilled in the kind of marketing that we need 7:05so we just create a scenario where a ficticious 7:08realty company is failing, we have to become the fastest-growing 7:12in the state you know and then eventually in a country we asked them 7:16the questions 7:17how would you market our company how would you market 7:20in social media,where would you market, how would you spend your 7:24extremely limited budget what would your ads look like right what what they look 7:28like how well they sound like 7:30who would you target, and some people may think that this is just trying to 7:34get work for free but 7:36we just see as if you want to work with us bad enough and your culture fit for 7:40us 7:40with John as you know is extremely extremely important if your culture fit 7:44for us 7:44then you'll take the time to do one of this prompts 7:48and when they respond to the prompt we get a lot better return on 7:52on our interview special yeah and then if if they've responded to your ad 7:56if they respond to your scenario that you give the people 8:00and they just submit their resume, trash 8:03that don't even waste your time on because they are just saving you 8:08from from doing a bad hire that's the whole truth on this, so 8:11you're looking for, exactly somebody that is gonna read your ad 8:15they are I'm going through and you've given them a job 8:19and they are going to complete that job and they're gonna do it 8:22the way that's that you have you know instructed so you gonna find out what 8:25their talents are 8:27right from the get-go so it's a very very different way to hire talent 8:31on by creating a scenario a bad scenario typically 8:35you know just like boo was saying you know this real estate company is dying 8:39we are relying on your marketing in order to 8:42 really go and make us the fastest growing company 8:45in the entire state and then the country where you gonna market what are you 8:49gonna do 8:50what do your ads look like tell us right now show us 8:53you know show us right now and everybody else just thrown in the trash 'cause 8:56you are only one in talent 8:58and that's exactly what you're gonna get so 9:02boo any other closing words on it, I mean it's a different way 9:05to really get talent but I can tell you that you weed out all the 9:10the tire kickers for sure.
